Product/Process Development Chemist or CHE


Position overview:

The position reports to the Product/Process Development Manager. It involves every aspect of finding new adhesive applications for existing products and new products for existing applications. Responsibilities include all phases of product/process development involving adhesive assembly of electronic, medical and automotive components. Selection of raw materials, manufacturing profile of formulations, process development of composite components and finished product qualifications are all included. All the manufacturing processes are controlled and performed internally. Technical support to customers is a daily occurrence. Activities include the entire spectrum of formulation and processes, from polymer raw materials to the finished product of the customer.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Develop new or improve functional performance and processing characteristics of existing epoxy

     adhesive/sealant formulations.
2. Create the next generation of formulations and applications.
3. Support the needs of the manufacturing department.
4. Trouble shoot customer application and processing problems.
5. Be prepared to assist in solving technical problems wherever and whenever they occur within the

     company or at a customer.


Qualifications and Experience:

1. Versatility and problem solving capability.
2. Hands on mentality coupled with creativity
3. Willingness to learn and teach existing and new technologies.
4. Positive attitude and work ethic.
5. BA, BS or CHE degree, chemistry major, minimum. Strength in organic and polymer chemistry.
6. Product development experience in a commercial environment with a minimum of 2 years.
7. Developed communication skills, written and verbal.
